Road Safety Tips

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Thousands of people will plan family vacations, vacations with friends, and day trips throughout the summer months during the summer of 2009 and with all of those trips comes an increased amount of traffic on the roads of America. As you plan your summer road trip make sure you follow the road safety tips that we provide in this article. These tips will keep you safe and make your vacation much more enjoyable.

Tip 1: Allow for plenty of driving time. When traveling by car make sure that you allow for plenty of traveling time when heading out on your adventure. Leave with plenty of time at hand so that you do not find yourselves rushing when on the roads.

Tip 2: Check your car prior to vacation. Perform some routine maintenance on your vehicle prior to leaving for your vacation. Check the car’s tire pressure, the oil, the engine and other items to make sure that the car will not break down when on vacation. Also make sure that your car is equipped with a spare tire, flares, and jumper cables just in case of a breakdown.

Tip 3: Obey Speed Laws. Wherever you are driving make sure that you obey all speed laws while on vacation. Getting a ticket in another state is no fun and it will ruin your vacation before it even gets into full swing.

Tip 4: Get plenty of sleep prior to driving. When heading out on the roads for a summer vacation make sure you get plenty of sleep before getting behind the wheel. Don’t drive if you are tired, it can cause an accident that will lead to serious injury or even death.

Tip 5: Never Drink and Drive. When on vacation never drink and drive. If you have been drinking make sure that someone else with you has not consumed any alcoholic beverages and can drive the vehicle.

Travel Tips for the Summer

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Are you planning a family vacation for the summer? It doesn’t matter if you are traveling via plane, train, or car the following tips should be followed for your vacation to be a success. The tips are also geared towards safety to make sure that your family has a fun and safe vacation without any problems.

Tip 1: Book the trip well in advance. If you wait too long to book your summer vacation then you might have to pay more than you originally planned. Waiting too long to book a trip can mean your vacation will be expensive and might not be as fun as it could have been if booked at an earlier date.

Tip 2: Research your Destination. Perform some research about your destination prior to booking a trip. Find out if the vacation spot is family friendly and if there is enough security to keep your family safe while traveling.

Tip 3: Pack Lightly. Don’t bring everything you own when going on vacation. Bringing one piece of luggage per person will make for a more comfortable ride in the car when going on vacation. If there is too much luggage then you will not have a fun ride on the trip because the car will be packed to the gills.

Tip 4: Don’t carry too much cash. When going on vacation don’t carry too much cash on your person. Use credit cards, travelers checks, and personal checks when going on vacation to stay safe. This can also help you prevent spending too much money while on the trip.

Divorce Caused by Airport

Monday, July 6th, 2009

I know the title seems a little too hard to believe but it really is true. Why would we lie? That’s right; a couple has filed for divorce because of an incident in an airport following their honeymoon. The newly married couple was in an airport in Saudi Arabia and had been married for only one week.

The bride decided to stop off and use the women’s bathroom prior to boarding the couple’s plane home. The husband decided that his wife took way too long in the bathroom and boarded the plan without his new bride. Upon exiting the bathroom the bride went on a frantic search of the airport for her husband.

The bride finally found out that her husband had boarded the plane without her and the plane had already taken off from the airport, leaving her stranded by herself following the honeymoon. The husband, upon landing at his destination, calmly told his and her relatives that the bride was still in Malaysia. The bride was not so calm though when she learned of her husband’s actions.

The bride demanded an immediate divorce from her new husband citing that his actions were inappropriate and not proper for a new marriage. Have you ever thought that spending too much time in the bathroom can lead to a divorce of your marriage? I know, its surprising but stranger things have happened. Divorce is incredibly common across the world but we aren’t sure if it has ever been caused by spending too much time in the airport bathroom following a honeymoon.

Coming Home from the 4th Vacation

Monday, July 6th, 2009

The Fourth of July is one of the most popular and beloved holidays in the United States because it celebrates the birthday of our wonderful country. The 4th of July has turned into one major day to party or one major weekend to party, if the holiday falls on the weekend, over the past couple of years.

One of the most popular vacation spots in the country is the Jersey Shore. The Jersey Shore is packed with thousands of people every July 4th to party with their friends and family members while also watching some of the most exhilarating fireworks displays on the East Coast.

Traveling during the 4th of July weekend can be a major inconvenience for some people, especially on the way home from their getaway. The travel following the Fourth of July can be lengthy, especially if done by motor vehicle, because so many people this year have decided against traveling long distances and are using road trips to celebrate the birthday of this great nation.

The 4th of July was on a Saturday, which gave many people one full day (Sunday), to travel back home from wherever they were vacationing. Many people across the country decided to take an extra day or two for the holiday, meaning that there will be a lot of traffic on the roads come later Monday afternoon and evening.

When traveling for the Fourth of July holiday people should remember to drive the speed limit, take it slow, don’t be aggressive on the roads and give themselves plenty of traveling time when going one destination to the next.
